Ear surgery

Otoplasty

This surgery is indicated for those patients older than 7 years of age that have winged and big ears. The procedure focuses on changing the folds that have been lost. The incision is behind the ear so it is imperceptible. 

 

Types of anesthesia: It is generally done with local anesthesia and sedation for more comfort and peace of mind of the patient. In kids, general anesthesia is preferred. 

 

Disability: It is recommended to avoid strenuous activities for at least 15 days after the surgery. Stitches are removed approximately 8 days after the surgery.

 

Approximate surgery time: 1- 2 hours.
